Substance Use Prevention
Substance use prevention activities are centered around supporting individuals and communities to prevent the use of substances as well as help youth and community members where they're at. In Plymouth, the Plymouth Youth Development Collaborative is supported through grant funding held by Plymouth Public Schools and High Point Treatment Center. These funds support staff as well as initiatives to help address this issue in the town.
PYDC focuses their efforts around youth and families and works to coordinate developmentally appropriate best practices around substance use prevention. Because there is no "one size fits all" approach to this topic, topics including mental health, adverse childhood experiences, and resiliency are often discussed within the coalition's framework.
